Fenlo vs Coveo: how the two platforms compare

Fenlo Team

Coveo and Fenlo both index enterprise content, apply permissions, and layer generative AI on top of the results. That's roughly where the similarity ends. Coveo is an 18-year-old public company (TSX: CVO) whose platform was built first for commerce personalization and customer service deflection, with workplace search as one of four solution areas. Fenlo is built for exactly one job: internal knowledge search, an AI assistant, and agents over the tools your team already uses.

This comparison reflects publicly available information as of August 2026. Pricing and packaging change on both sides, so confirm current terms directly before deciding.

What each platform is actually built for

Coveo's own financials tell you where its engineering effort goes: commerce is its fastest-growing segment and the majority of new bookings, alongside customer service and website search. Workplace search — the closest overlap with what Fenlo does — is a smaller, fourth product line within a much larger commerce-and-CX platform. That's a reasonable trade if you're also buying Coveo to power product recommendations on a storefront. It's a lot of platform to buy if all you need is a place for employees to search Slack, Drive, and Confluence and get a cited answer.

Fenlo doesn't have a commerce or CX product to subsidize. Search, the AI assistant, and agents are the entire product, scoped to internal, permission-aware knowledge from day one.

Pricing and time to first value

Coveo publishes a ~$600/month starting price for its Pro tier, but real mid-market deals commonly run $10K–$20K per month, and enterprise contracts carry six-figure annual minimums before professional services. Implementation for a full deployment typically takes 12 to 24 weeks and often requires $20,000–$150,000 in additional services to configure connectors, tune relevance, and roll out to users.

Fenlo's pricing is published in full: free to start with your own model keys, then $21 or $33 per seat per month depending on tier, with no sales call required to sign up and start indexing.

Search and the shift to agents

Both platforms are adding agentic capabilities in 2026 — Coveo's Search Agent and MCP server are in open beta, layered on 18 years of ML-based relevance tuning. Fenlo's agents ship today, are configured with custom instructions and scoped knowledge, pause for human approval before running sensitive multi-step actions, and can be shared with a person, group, or whole workspace.

The practical difference is access: Coveo's agentic features arrive as part of an enterprise contract negotiated through sales. Fenlo's agents are available on the same self-serve Pro plan as search.

Which one fits

Pick Coveo if you need one platform to also power commerce personalization or customer-facing service deflection at enterprise scale, and you have the budget and timeline for a dedicated implementation team.

Pick Fenlo if you specifically need internal knowledge search and AI agents, want to see results against your own tools within minutes, and would rather pay a published per-seat price than run a procurement process first.
